Franklin Elementary in Marshalltown, Iowa, first opened in 1913. Franklin reopened in 1995 following a transformative remodeling project. Franklin includes 3-sections Kindergarten through 4th grade and an inclusive Preschool classroom with a.m and p.m. sections. Typically, we serve approximately 360 students.
Franklin staff consists of a Principal, a full-time School Counselor, a full-time School Nurse and a full-time Teacher Librarian. In addition to our 16 classroom teachers, we have Extend Learning Program(XLP), Art/Music/PE, English as a Second Language, Special Education and Title 1 Reading teachers. Our teachers are assisted by an administrative assistant, a School Resource Specialist, multiple Paraprofessionals and Bilingual Language Assistants(BLAs). Our staff is committed to providing the highest quality educational experience for our students and their families.
Our school is truly representative of our community’s rich diversity. Franklin students have the opportunity to learn and grow with peers from around the world. We proudly have 9 different languages spoken in our school.
