Student Dress for Outside Activities:
Living in Iowa the weather can be unpredictable. Franklin has the following  expectations for student dress for outside activities:
60+ degrees
short sleeves acceptable
41-59 degrees
an additional layer = jacket or sweatshirt
Less than 40 degrees: heavy coat
As winter approaches, we will expect students to wear boots, coats, snow pants, hats, and gloves when playing in the snow. Students who do not come to school with these items will be restricted to playing in areas where snow has been removed. If your family has extras and are willing to donate them or if your child needs these items contact Brittany Appelgate,
Franklin Nurse, at (641) 754 – 1041 ext. 4619

Traffic Alert!
Right before Thanksgiving City crews installed two new sidewalk ramps at the corner of 14th and West Main St. The School District is working in partnership with the City of Marshalltown to provide a second crosswalk for students and families to use. High-visibility signage will also be installed.  Once that install is complete the intersection will become a 3-way stop.  We hope that this will create a safer intersection for students and staff.  Student drop off is permitted before a vehicle enters the intersection.  Drivers should use the crosswalks as an intersection boundary.
